December is finally here and before you all think One Ingredient will be jumping on the Christmas band wagon by serving up a turkey menu, think again! As a treat for Christmas I thought I would spoil you all by serving up the most popular menu of 2014, before you start living on a diet of left over turkey sandwiches. For two nights only, I present to you the One Ingredient Bacon Menu…

Dates: 5th & 6th December

Cost: R500 per person




Bacon and beans on toast

Home made BBQ beans, Crispy bacon, fried quails egg on toasted brioche


Amuse Bouche

Pea and bacon soup with black pepper grisini




Poached and marinated quail, baby gem hearts, semi dried rosa tomatoes, Herb cured streaky bacon, truffled egg mouseline, parmesan, garlic croutons



A pig’s Christmas Dinner

12 hour braised pork belly, pulled pork neck, sous vide loin, pan roasted sprouts with bacon and chestnuts, pickled baby carrots, smoked mash and crackling



Hot chocolate fondant, candied bacon and peanut butter bon bons, Blueberry marshmallow, hazelnut meringue

The wine paired with the bacon menu will be Painted Wolf Wines on December 5th and Mooiplaas on December 6th. Naturally the wine makers will be there to help us pay homage to the pig!
There will only be two One Ingredient dinners in December so get your reservations in early to avoid disappointment.
